The PiChani 2022

Themed BLAK, this years event was bout celebrating Black Culture and our being as Africans. Sponsored by Jameson - Buy Original and supported by Habakkuk Trust - #LoveBulawayo and FastJet, The PiChani featured I Wear My Culture a research project that has been running for 6 months and supported by the British Council. A fashion film from the project, filmed by Prosper Kunyetu and directed by Gilmore Tee, premiered at the event, featuring 20 garments by 10 young Zimbabwean designers, interpreting their findings on the different ethnic groups that they were assigned and doing research on. The event also saw performances by Poet Sithandazile Dube, Kwaito Sensation - Tebza de Mrekza and Musician - Billius The Majestic. South African Award-Winning Designer - Mzukisi Mbane of IMPRINT, showcased his recent Milan Fashion Week collection at this year's edition. He jetted in with Award-Winning Media personality - Luthando "LootLove" Shosha. The two then later went on to experience Victoria Falls, courtesy of our friends at Khanondo Safaris & Tours.
